PerfectMaxwell B.They look great, are easy to assemble, and work perfectly. There’s even a really cool system built into the drawers which let’s you fine tune them after installation to make sure they’re all perfect straight. Genius design made with quality materials.5
Looks good, function just okWendyI like the look and feel of this product. It is sturdy, easy to assemble, and functions as expected. However, the drawers don't pull out very far so it feels like there is a lot of space in each drawer that there isn't a lot of access to. The back half of the drawers (which are already fairly small) are hard to see.3

Great look, nice valueStephenGreat look for my daughter’s room5
Would recommendMeganGreat dresser for the price. Not very complicated to put together just a little time consuming. Would be nicer if drawers were a little deeper or wider5
Great dresser- drawers easily openALYSSAGreat dresser- drawers easily open and close and it looks super sharp.5
Love itmelissaEasy to assemble, looks great. I have the matching bed too! Fantastic!5
I love itLeahIt is so cute and fits perfectly in my closet! I also love that the drawers have the silent closing effect (it wont let you slam the drawers). The only issue we had was in assembly trying to put the things that secure the drawers to the sliding mechanisms. I just didnt put them on and it works fine. Just make sure your drawers are over the bolt and secure I guess.5
Love it!LynnI already own one of these chest of drawers but needed more space so decided to purchase a second one and placed it side by side next to the first Bjorksnas chest. Looks great and I love the style. Very well built and solid.5
Beautiful and sturdyMarybethLovely and very sturdy. Easy to assemble but a drawer or two do not line up perfectly so they need a slight push to get them closed. The others close on their own.3
Drawer issuesIkeacc2020This dresser looks great and is easy to assemble, but as others have pointed out it has issues with the drawers. THEY DON'T OPEN ALL THE WAY! It seems so silly to make a dresser where the drawers only open halfway, but this is what Ikea has done. I bought drawer organizers and I can't even get them in because the drawers simply don't open more than halfway. I double checked that I assembled it correctly, but I still have to reach my hand and blindly guess what I'm grabbing out of the back of each drawer. I would not buy this product again for this reason alone.3
Love it.SD94By far the best dresser we have bought from Ikea thus far! It’s Exactly what we needed for our nursery. It wasn’t to difficult to put together and it even have an easy drawer shut feature that I wasn’t aware of till we put it together. Would highly recommend.5
Very happy with it!Jen OWe just bought this and assembled it yesterday. I was a bit apprehensive after reading some reviews that talked about not being able to get the drawers to slide in all the way, or some being crooked, etc. We actually DID run into those problems, but there are some nifty little screws on each drawer slider that are specifically for customizing the level of each drawer. My husband used his leveling tool and was easily able to adjust each side so that they all matched perfectly, by changing the heights of the screws. I wonder if other folks with this complaint knew about this feature? Other then that, it was easy to assemble and we are very pleased with the quality. I was also nervous about the bottom of the drawers and backing, since it’s “cardboard” according to other reviews. We were surprised at how thick and durable the boards are! So that is definitely no longer a concern. Love everything about this dresser! Especially for the features that keep the drawers from pulling out too far or slamming shut— protecting the fingers of our little one. :)5
KYL123I like this is use of soil wood5
Alright -- a few problems that are mostly fixableGigi0737TL;DR: If you do not need a lot of storage space/only need to store small things (or things that fold up small) and don't plan to make any modifications (e.g. staining it), this dresser will probably work just fine for you. It's >90% solid wood, so it is quite sturdy. But if you want to be able to open drawers fully, or stain/paint it, you will need to do a lot of work. Staining and drawer problems aside, I ultimately think this is worth the money because it's over 90% solid wood. Full Review: First two comments are for people who are interested in staining this piece. 1. I needed a dresser to put in my closet for storage. I chose this specific dresser on the understanding that it was unfinished solid wood. When I received it and removed the parts from the box, it was clear that it was not unfinished (outward facing parts had an acrylic lacquer on them) and not all solid wood (back panel and bottoms of drawers are fiberboard -- thick fiberboard, but still). Given the design, you could cut a sheet of wood to size and replace the fiberboard panels. I swear I checked that it was unfinished before purchase, but alas. It was incredibly hard to remove the finish: I sanded it, used acetone, and sanded again (all sanding with 80 grit on an orbital sander), and STILL could not remove all of the finish. I was not comfortable using more serious lacquer stripping products without a respirator, and given the Covid-19 situation in my state did not feel it would be ethical to purchase a respirator just to refinish one piece of furniture. I believe these problems would also apply to anyone who wanted to use paint -- even chalk paint -- on this dresser. 2. This is birch -- so it already stains blotchy, and the fact that I couldn't remove all of the lacquer (I got the vast majority of it) only exacerbated it. I conditioned the wood and used a water-based stain (color: Early American) and there was still some blotchiness due to both the quality of the wood and some lingering lacquer. It looks pretty good overall, but when I have more time, I will sand parts of it down again and re-stain them before I put a gloss on it. 3. The drawers are smaller than you'd expect given the dimensions. This is made worse by the fact that the metal slides for the drawers do not allow you to fully pull the drawers out. I am pretty sure with some clever thinking and a drill, this could be fixed, though. 4. The drawer pulls, at least for me, do not work as designed: the screws that are meant to thread through the back of the drawer to attach the leather pulls were not long enough. I was planning to replace the knobs anyways, but for someone who likes the leather loops you'll need longer screws. 5. In the back, there is a gap between the top of the fiberboard panel that covers the back of the dresser and the top of the dresser. This gap is visible from the front -- the drawers do not cover it. I have my dresser in a closet, but I think the gap would be more obvious if it was in a well lit area. 6. Others have mentioned that the drawers sit crookedly in their reviews. My experience with Ikea drawers is that they all have some degree of crookedness. While my drawers do not sit very crookedly, they do not sit perfectly straight either. I think this is something that could be fixed with clever thinking, and would probably be more important if I was not keeping the dresser in the closet. 7. If you are worried about off-gassing, this product did not off-glass at all and that is certainly because of the materials. For comparison, I bought a $200 dresser (new) elsewhere that was mostly MDF and it STUNK when I removed it from the box. If I had a baby, I would definitely feel better about putting this Ikea dresser in their room than I would any MDF dresser.3
Lovely dresser, beautiful wood, great quality!SamscookThis dresser looks stunning, the materials are of great quality. The assembly was made easy with thorough instruction manual. It came together beautifully and is very sturdy! Absolutely love it!5
great dressesela003we bought it for my granddaughter and we really like look of it and style also love that wood5
Good Quality and Almost PerfectWander7I like this product because the drawers are soft and it comes with mechanism in each drawer to adjust horizontal gaps between each drawers. However, the drawers are a little shallow. I also wished the wood was finished with a clear coat of lacquer or something.4
Beautiful wood, flawed drawer design :(r13207Bought these because aesthetically they look great and I thought worth the $250 for the relatively small drawers. The wood does look beautiful and heavy; however, the last step of assembly (placing the drawers into the chest) brought out a huge issue. The drawers DO NOT sit into the chest flat. They topple to one side because one side locks into place while the other side has the metal knob inserted but remains floating. After re-reading the reviews I noticed a few other people had the same issue. This tilt still lets the drawer slide back and forth; however they look crooked, make a good deal of noise, and aren't smooth because of it. Every drawer does it (always just one side) and I've tried deassembly and reassembly. The last thing that was disappointing is that the back and the drawer bottoms are all cardboard. Not visible as the chest stands but reduces the durability. All in all, great wood and very aesthetically pleasing; however with serious design flaws and at the price just not worth the value because of it.3
emily212We initially purchased for our nursery closet and ended up picking up a second we loved it so much! Great look, storage, and drawers function beautifully.5

Our take on wood

Wood is the material most commonly associated with IKEA furniture, and for good reasons. It’s renewable, recyclable, durable, ages beautifully and it is an important part of our Scandinavian design heritage. At IKEA, we believe that sourced in responsible way, wood is a key change driver for climate mitigation. In 2012, we set a goal that by 2020 our wood would be from more sustainable sources. We are happy to announce that we have reached this goal and today, more than 98% of the wood used for IKEA products is either FSC-certified or recycled.

Forests are critical for life on earth

Forests contribute to maintaining balance in the atmosphere, purify the air that we breathe and are part of the water cycle. They nourish wildlife biodiversity and provide homes for indigenous communities who depend on forests for their livelihoods. 90% of plant and animal species living on the planet need forests to survive. They provide sources of food, fuel, timber and many other ecosystem services that we rely upon. Sourcing approximately 19 million m3 of roundwood per year from some 50 countries, IKEA has a significant impact on the world’s forests and the timber industry and a huge responsibility to positively influence how wood is sourced. Responsible wood sourcing and forest management ensure that the needs of people dependent on forests are met, that businesses can work sustainably, that forest ecosystems are protected and biodiversity is enhanced.

100% wood from more sustainable sources

At IKEA, we work with strict industry standards to promote responsible forestry. We don’t allow any wood in our supply chain from forest areas that are illegal or contain high conservation values or from forest areas with social conflict. Before starting to work with IKEA, suppliers must demonstrate that they meet IKEA critical requirements on wood sourcing. IKEA requires all suppliers to source wood from more sustainable sources (FSC-certified or recycled wood). All suppliers are audited regularly and non-compliant suppliers are required to implement immediate corrective actions. By working together with our suppliers, we are proud to announce that we have reached our more sustainable sources goal, which we set out to achieve by 2020. Today more than 98% of the wood used for IKEA products is either FSC-certified or recycled.

IKEA Forest Positive Agenda for 2030

As pressure on the world’s forests and the surrounding eco-systems increases due to unsustainable agriculture, the expansion of infrastructure and illegal logging, it is time to take an even more holistic approach to protect and support these important resources for generations to come. The IKEA Forest Positive Agenda for 2030 set out to improve forest management, enhance biodiversity, mitigate climate change and support the rights and needs of people who depend on forests across the whole supply chain and drive innovation to use wood in even smarter ways. The agenda focuses on three key areas: • Making responsible forest management the norm across the world. • Halting deforestation and reforesting degraded landscapes. • Driving innovation to use wood in smarter ways by designing all products from the very beginning to be reused, refurbished, remanufactured, and eventually recycled.

We accomplish more by working together

For many years, IKEA has partnered with businesses, governments, social groups and non-governmental organisations to fight forest degradation and deforestation and increase the volume and availability of wood from responsibly managed forests both for our own supply chain and beyond. We are on a journey to improve global forest management and make responsible wood sourcing the industry standard, contributing to building resilient forest landscapes and improve biodiversity.

What is solid wood?

Solid wood is one of our favorite materials and is part of our Scandinavian heritage. It is also a timeless material with many uses. Regardless of the wood species, it is durable, beautiful, renewable and recyclable. We strive to use this raw material as smartly and efficiently as possible to avoid waste – and we also invest in facilities and logistics so that we can increase the use of recycled wood. This way, every tree is put to good use that little extra.
